Vijayadashami · the victory of light
Mahishasura is overcome. His smoke has turned to light and marigold petals.
Shakti Yatra · Briefing
Run the pilgrims' path to the 51 Shakti Peethas. A gate stands at every peetha: run through it for darshan, then answer three quick questions about that peetha, +100 for each right answer. A run that ends early loses nothing, and the next run carries the yatra on from the next peetha.
Past the boulders and the crates. Swipe sideways on touch.
Over the fallen logs. Swipe up.
Under the timber arches. Swipe down.
Esc or the pause button stops the run at any moment. The path bends and crosses rivers on plank bridges; the camera leans into the turns with you.
Shadows of smoke with ember eyes. They wait on the path and lunge as you near. One that reaches you ends the run.
Releases a chakra of light down your lane. It turns the first asura it meets into light and petals: +50.
Three charges, shown top right. One comes back every second and a half, and every lotus restores one at once.
Now and then a golden lion waits on the path. Run through it and Devi's lion runs beside you for ten seconds, leaping on every shadow ahead (+50 each). No shadow can touch you then, but logs, rocks and arches you still jump, slide or dodge.
You can always step aside instead: every shadow leaves a lane free. Dispelling one scores, and keeps the path clear.
In the open lanes. Plenty of them.
Along the arc of a jump over the logs. The flower offered to Kali and Durga.
Under the arches, between blockers and through each gate. Every lotus also restores one shakti charge.
Score is every metre you run, plus the flowers, plus 250 for each darshan, 100 for each right answer and 50 for each shadow dispelled.
During the run: distance, score and the next peetha sit top-left; the peethas visited, your flowers, the pace bar and the shakti charges top-right, with the pause button beside them.
